Comedy night – Edinburgh Preview

Saturday 13 April 2019, doors open 7.30pm

Join comedians Sunjai Arif and Andrew White as they preview their Edinburgh Fringe shows.

Do you want much more than this provincial life? Would you love to explore that shore up above? Sunjai Arif can show you the world as he shares his memories of nostalgic pop culture all while attempting not to be sued by Disney. Sunjai has struggled with his unreasonable expectations for a fairytale life and can’t understand why people don’t break out into song all the time. Children’s cartoons have affected all of us in some way or another, especially those from the entertainment powerhouse Disney. Come and enjoy some absurdist comedy that follows its heart.

Sunjai quickly wins over audiences with his confidence and warm personality. He is an engaging comedy story teller with solid club material, but, what really gets people talking is when Sunjai brings his more alternate comedy routines to the stage. Audiences lean forward with excitement and anticipation of what he’ll do next. Experience the sheer joy of seeing Sunjai share his memories of nostalgic pop culture in a way only he could imagine.

What do you do when your life comes to a crossroads? Write a show about it of course! At 19-years-old Andrew White can’t help but question his next steps in life. Should he keep slogging it out on the comedy circuit? Or is University the best option? Will this really be his Retirement Tour? A brand new comedy show from “one of the most talked about rising star comedians” (Essex Magazine). Weighing up his future, Andrew takes a hilarious look at making decisions, his place in the world, and the conflict of the creative and the academic.

Andrew White is a comedian fast going up the ranks of the stand-up world, with an act that’s “Not to be missed” (Daily Record). Andrew can win over any crowd with his engaging performance and quick wit; then keep them laughing with jokes on everything from going bald to bigotry, and from family to finding love.

He’s performed in clubs all over the country, internationally, and for corporate functions like the Essex TV awards. However, his pride and joy are his two solo Edinburgh shows (It Was Funnier in My Head, 2017 & Coming of Age, 2018). Both were successful runs with sell-out nights; receiving plaudits from audiences & critics alike.
