Tennessee Williams Triple Bill
June 29 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm£6
Along with Eugene O’Neill and Arthur Miller, Tennessee Williams is considered among the three foremost playwrights in 20th-century American drama.
He found fame with The Glass Menagerie (1944), closely reflecting his own unhappy family background, but is probably best known for A Streetcar Named Desire (1947) and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1955).
His body of work also includes an impressive list one-act plays. We’ve chosen three of the best for our triple bill:
Hello from Bertha – Bertha is a prostitute on the verge of being evicted from a low-class bordello. In a series of delusions she revisits her past loves while slipping toward disease and death.
The Lady of Larkspur Lotion – Mrs. Hardwicke-Moore is a long-time tenant in a cockroach-infested boarding house – but she lives convinced that she owns a Brazillian rubber plantation.
Lord Byron’s Love Letter – An old woman and a spinster who live in an old, dilapidated house claim to have a love letter from Lord Byron.
Tickets £6 priced are available to book online, or in person from Carter’s Newsagents, Market Place, Faversham.
